Today I had the kicharee with steamed spinach again. I also rediscovered teeccino, a delicious coffee alternative that I used to love! Experimenting with being on the cleanse, while also eating or drinking other things is almost like a totally different kind of cleanse! I am trying to go with my intuition about what my body needs, and exploring the boundaries as they feel comfortable to me. I would like to maintain the cleanse, but continue adding in other types of vegetables and expanding my smoothies, and attempt to do kicharee when it feels appropriate, and other similarly healing foods as they feel appropriate.
I believe that it is never and always a good time for a strict cleanse. There will always be a million reasons why it doesn’t seem like a good idea, and even once I start there are a million reasons why I feel I should just stop. It is uncomfortable, inconvenient and downright hard at times. It serves as a beautiful tool, though.
My intention was to reset my relationship to food, slow down and reduce stress, and reevaluate my emotional process by observing and removing my edible vices. I feel good that I am accomplishing these things, and I recognize that this is an ongoing process. Eating the kicharee and a few steamed veggies was helpful during the most acute detox phase of the cleanse. I am grateful I made it through! Having accomplished that, I am excited about shifting into a longer less strict version of the cleanse. I don’t feel that it is sustainable for me to always and only eat kicharee, but I would like to continue avoiding the obvious offenders, and to expand my diet to include other healthy options.
I will keep posting on how this goes!
